Lukas Weithas, based in Bregenz / Austria, is a transmedia artist. He studied Transmedia Art with a focus on Social Practice at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (2017 – 2019) & Pioneering in Arts, Media & the Creative Industries/ Arts and Culture Management at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen (2019 – 2021). His works range from sculpture and painting to performance. They address phenomena of (pop)cultural affiliation, (pseudo)religious symbolism, contemporary brand aesthetics. Weithas is also particularly interested in agriculture, its history, its transformation through time and contemporary and future aesthetics. He understands its materiality, processes and procedures as a basic cultural expression of civilization. Since July 2023, he has been curating the DOCK 20 life format, which presents experimental positions in the fields of performance, dance, choreography and music.
